Hannah Shapiro

Dr. Hannah Shapiro is a pediatric neurologist who cares for children and adolescents with headache disorders. She specializes in individualized headache treatment plans that may incorporate medications; neuromodulation devices (technological tools that alter brain activity through electrical currents or magnets); procedures, such as nerve blocks, botulinum toxin (Botox) injections and trigger point injections; and behavioral interventions.

In research, Shapiro studies innovative treatment options and effective care delivery methods to improve outcomes for pediatric headache patients. She also conducts clinical trials (studies of promising new treatments) for children and adolescents with headache disorders.

Shapiro earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics and child neurology at Boston Children's Hospital, followed by a fellowship in headache medicine at Mass General Brigham.
