Sareena Jaspal Chopra

MD

Pediatrician
Nutrition geek, yoga devotee and travel enthusiast

Dr. Sareena Jaspal Chopra is a pediatrician who embraces an integrative approach, combining conventional and complementary practices. In caring for children, she strives to work collaboratively with families and to empower patients (when developmentally appropriate) to take an active role in their health. She also makes a point of being well versed in factors that influence wellness and disease, while taking into account each patient's mind, body, spirit and community.

Chopra is passionate about nutrition and intestinal health, and the roles they play in preventing and alleviating medical issues. With an emphasis on preventive care, she works with children and families on addressing lifestyle factors that contribute to health and educates them on the benefits of good nutrition, getting enough sleep and engaging in mind-body practices. She particularly enjoys teaching kids about the rewards of meditation and helping them find ways to address stress that work for them.

After earning a bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Pennsylvania, Chopra earned her medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. Following her passion for integrative medicine, she completed the clinical practice curriculum of the Institute for Functional Medicine, in which participants study how to integrate the many factors affecting human health into effective, personalized treatments. In addition, she has completed training programs in both mind-body medicine and Ayurvedic medicine.
