Sharon Orbach Wietstock

Dr. Sharon Orbach Wietstock is a pediatric neurologist, specializing in the care of patients with neurologic illness in the hospital. As a neurohospitalist, she provides critical care to hospitalized infants, children and young adults with neurological conditions. She has expertise in diagnosing, stabilizing and managing nervous system abnormalities, as well as in preventing additional complications. She collaborates with other pediatricians and specialists to minimize brain, spinal and nerve injuries, with the goal of improving quality of life for some of the hospital's most vulnerable patients. She is director of the Neurotrauma Program.

Wietstock earned a master's degree in neuroscience at Magdalen College at the University of Oxford and her medical degree at UCSF. She completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in child neurology at UCSF. She also completed advanced training in clinical research at UCSF.

Wietstock belongs to the American Academy of Neurology and Child Neurology Society.
